Emerald’s career has been on an eye-catching trajectory since joining Rinse FM five years ago, co-presenting before moving up to her own daily Drivetime broadcast. Emerald’s versatility has allowed her to branch further into presenting and hosting across music, travel, fashion and food.
From hosting in depth interviews with artists, to presenting a bite size cooking series for BBC Good Food online, to being hand-picked to present and inform a 5-part documentary series called ‘Greatness’ for Kyra TV.
Following interviews with M.I.A on Rinse, Emerald was asked by the icon herself to help curate and open up for M.I.A’s Meltdown Festival at Southbank in 2017. The relationship quickly developed into Emerald being her permanent tour DJ & Hype woman throughout 2018, playing everywhere from London to Los Angeles, South Africa & Australia and curating the playlist for Burberry at 2019’s London fashion week.
Also passionate about equal representation in working environments, Emerald is a regular speaker on panels and in talks for Women in Business amongst initiatives such as Smirnoff’s ‘Equalising Music’ campaign.
Emerald’s reputation as one of London’s key rising tastemakers and broadcasters continues to grow with Emerald selected as one of BBC Radio 1XTRA’s new monthly residents of 2020/21 and radio show & party ‘Afters’ on Rinse. Curated by Emerald, ‘Afters’ seeks to capture those magical twilight moments, found after the party, back in the intimate confines of friends’ living rooms when your selector mates hop on the decks for impromptu back to backs.
Continuing to push through the brightest of homegrown talent across multiple genres, always associated with credibility and a pure love of music in all its forms, Emerald’s mix of curational ability, attitude, presence and intelligence define her uniquely in a talented young London’s scene.
