Nottingham music royalty Jason Williamson - 50% of Indie-Beat-Pop merchants Sleaford Mods - will be live in the venue talking about his out-of-the-ordinary journey to riding the wave of critical and commercial success whilst never selling out. Relentless musical collaborator and occasional actor, this interview, on the eve of the Sleaford’s new album ‘UK Grim’, promises to be a highlight of IW23.

About

Jason Williamson grew up in Grantham. He is the lead singer and lyricist for the British band; Sleaford Mods. He is an Actor known for the feature film uk18 (2017) and #LostDogFilm (2016) and appeared as himself in the award winning Bunch of Kunst (2017) and crowdfunded Sleaford Mods: Invisible Britain (2015). He formed the band Sleaford Mods in Nottingham in 2006 and has since released 9 studio albums. His stage performances have been critically acclaimed and he has become well known in the press for saying it how it is. 

He moved to London to train as an actor, but returned to Nottingham in 2009 where he met Andrew Fearn and Sleaford Mods became a duo, Williamson writing the lyrics and Fearn writing the music. Williamson is a published author, with two books published to date, “Grammar Wanker – 2007-2014” a book of his lyrics and; “Slabs From Paradise” a book of 5 short stories published in 2017.

He has also appeared on various artists’ albums as a guest vocalist including; The Prodigy, Leftfield, Baxter Dury and Ill Move Sporadic and Tenchoo. Also spotted in Peaky Blinders!
