Tony Visconti

The music legend will give students an insight into working with talent such as David Bowie, Damon Albarn, Manic Street Preachers and Morrissey. Hosted by Adam Buxton.

ABOUT

The word ‘legend’ was made for this gentleman. Music royalty, producer Tony was born in Brooklyn and moved to London in the late 60’s to begin his career in the music industry.

Since Bowie released his eponymous album, David Bowie, produced by Tony Visconti in 1969, Tony has always been a vital part of the most decisive moments in Bowie’s career. He was also the key person behind T. Rex’s success as well as the magic of Sparks, the Moody Blues, Thin Lizzy and many others.

When David Bowie’s album Blackstar came out at the end of 2015, it was the fourth album in a row Tony produced for David, which immediately went on to win several Grammys and a Brit Award as British Album of the Year.

His unique life path has been described in his fascinating autobiography:  Bowie, Bolan and the Brooklyn Boy. He remains one of the most respected and important pop producers in history.

Tony will be joined by broadcasting genius and Bowie-Nut, Adam Buxton to create a truly unique event!
