Motion Graphics Designer

Hear from a motion graphic designer whose client list includes BBC Sport, Nick Jr, Capital One, ATP Tour, Toyota, Detonate, The FA, Nokia to name a few!

About

Mike Choo is a freelance motion graphics designer, specialising in purpose-driven animation. Working across 2D and 3D, his aim is to create work that puts some good in the world. Some of his proudest work has been for projects such as the Student Commissions on Racial Justice and Sexual Violence, and ‘It’s Good to Talk’ a piece aimed to help reduce suicidality and self-harm.

He worked in-house at design agencies for about a decade, before making the exciting leap to full-time freelance in 2020. He’s worked on projects for clients large and small, including BBC Sport, Center Parcs, FedEx, NTU, Nick Jr, Capital OneATP Tour, Wattbike, Woodland Trust, Toyota, Detonate, The FA, Nokia, New Balance and more.

Mike also runs the MoGraph Beats project – an open creative collaboration that brings together visual artists and beatmakers in the name of creativity for the fun of it.

He knows for a stone cold fact that learning to breakdance in your 40s hurts but is totally worth the bruises.

Check out his showreel on his website.
