Marion Hume
Marion Hume is a prominent British fashion journalist, editor, and screenwriter, whose career spans several decades, beginning by co-founding Fashion Acts in the 1980s, one of the earliest fundraisers for HIV/AIDS.
Her work has been featured in leading publications such as The Sunday Times, The Independent, and the Financial Times, where she is known for her insightful and candid commentary on fashion and its cultural impact, later taking on the role of editor-in-chief at Vogue Australia, introducing fresh perspectives and innovative content.
Hume has also made her mark as a screenwriter co-writing the screenplay for the film “LEE,” which stars Kate Winslet and is based on the life of photographer Lee Miller. Working as a senior consultant for the United Nations’ ITC Ethical Fashion Initiative, she advocates for sustainable and ethical practices within the fashion industry.
Hume also founded Siren Call, which linked together those across the fashion industry who would never normally collaborate—including Browns and Primark—to supply non-PPE clothing essentials to more than 8,000 paramedics and other front-line staff serving Greater London.
