ARTGOON, AKA Christian Byfield, is a Nottingham based artist, illustrator and designer whose work sits right in the middle of music, street culture and bold visual storytelling. He has created artwork for some of the most recognisable names in UK rap, including Stormzy, Giggs, Krept & Konan and Skepta, placing his art directly alongside the artists shaping today’s music scene.
His style is instantly recognisable. He blends vintage cartoons, cinema references and everyday urban life, using strong colour, expressive characters and a mix of digital and traditional painting techniques. The result is work that feels playful, nostalgic and current all at once, the kind of visuals you stop scrolling for.
His art has reached huge audiences through major music and culture platforms including Link Up TV, GRM Daily and SBTV. He has also taken that same energy into gallery spaces. His first solo exhibition, Trap Art, was held at Broadway Gallery in Nottingham, supported by the Near Now Studio mentoring programme, showing how a style shaped by music and youth culture can hold its own in a professional art setting.
