About

Carl Wilson is an illustrator and animator based in Newcastle Upon Tyne (UK) producing artwork across multiple disciplines including risograph printmaking, motion design and digital 3D.

Through commercial employment, personal projects and public exhibitions, he works with a broad range of international clients, studios and agencies, and has collaborated with various organisations to deliver artistic lectures and creative workshops.

Carl’s origins of art explored film and television while producing skateboarding and independent music videos.  Since 2015 Carl has continued to produce digital content working within both illustration and animation industries to build his extensive portfolio, which was presented at Pictoplasma Festival (Berlin) in 2022. His portfolio now showcases a variety of approaches to creating artwork, largely featuring endearing characters and vibrant environments.

Recent commercial projects have involved large scale advertisements and graphics across buildings and cities, including Beijing, China. Carl’s illustrations have also been created into various pieces of merchandise including plushies, balloons and sticker books, demonstrating the diversity of his work.
