Daudi Matsiko

Singer. Songwriter. Guitarist.

About

Daudi Matsiko is a UK based Ugandan singer songwriter and guitarist known for emotionally honest songwriting and intimate live performances. His music blends modern folk with delicate guitar work and stripped back arrangements, creating songs that feel personal and raw while still sounding contemporary.

After releasing independent EPs including A Brief Introduction to Failure and The Lingering Effects of Disconnection, he signed to Naim Records and built a reputation for powerful live shows. His sound draws from traditional folk influences while bringing in modern percussion and production, with lyrics that focus on vulnerability, identity and human connection.

Daudi has toured with artists including GoGo Penguin, Keaton Henson and Portico Quartet, performing across the UK and internationally. He is also a graduate of the Red Bull Music Academy in Montreal, a respected global programme for emerging musicians and producers.

His journey shows how independent artists can develop a distinctive voice and build a career through strong songwriting, live performance and creative authenticity. For students interested in music, songwriting or performance, Daudi offers insight into how personal storytelling can connect with audiences on a larger stage.
