Workshop with Confetti Alumni Alex Calladine, Luca Saggiorato, and James Frost

Alex Calladine
Alex is from the first graduating year of BSc Esports Production students, graduating with First Class Hons and winning Student of the Year for 2023.

While studying Alex found a passion for directing, vision mixing and engineering broadcast workflows. During his time at the university he worked on every commercial esports event to take place at Confetti, mainly working as a director and vision mixer. These shows included Amazon University Esports Masters, British Esports Federation Student Champs.

While studying he also worked as a freelancer in numerous roles. Notable events include: Associate Producer – ESL Pro League Season 17, Broadcast Engineer – F1 Esports 2022, Producer – BLAST Spring and Fall Qualifiers 2023, Graphics Operator – Insomnia69 & Insomnia70.

After graduating Alex secured a job as a Broadcast Engineer, working for Gravity Media, on assignment with Riot Games at Project Stryker.

Luca Saggiorato
Luca was part of the first graduating cohort for the Bsc Esports Production degree.

During his studies he engaged with all aspects of broadcast production but took a particular interest in Audio, networking and RF. While at the university he participated in a vast majority of the esports events taking place at Confetti, being across every aspect involved in each broadcast during the rig and later being the audio supervisor on shows such as The Memevitational 2023, University Esports Masters and the Halo Clash Series.

During studies he also worked as a freelancer in alternate roles across not just the esports industry. He worked on esports events that included the Esports Commonwealth Games, the V10 R-League; travelling to the finals in Abu Dhabi, and for a Guild Esports talk show. Outside of the esports industry Luca freelanced as an AV technician travelling within the UK working on largescale corporate events.

Post graduation Luca acquired a job as a Graduate Audio Engineer working at Gravity Media and has since broadened his knowledge and skillset while working on projects such as Formula E, Wembley matches, Ultimate Tennis Showdown and has a lot more upcoming jobs this year.

James Frost
James Frost is an esports enthusiast and a part of the first graduate cohort from the BSc Esports Production course at NTU / Confetti. During his studies, he specialised in replay operation and content production allowing him to pursue numerous opportunities in not only esports production, but also traditional sports and media.

James’ work during and after his degree have seen him travel to several countries including Sweden and Portugal, operating on shows that have amassed large online and in person viewership.

Most recently, James has begun working for Gravity Media as a Trainee EVS Replay Operator at Riot Games, and is working on several of their League of Legends and Valorant Products in one of the most advanced broadcast facilities in the world.
