In January 2023 Leanne went into development with Heyday TV as writer/creator of her original TV series idea, Misadventure, first written during her time on the 2020 BBC Drama Writers Scheme (now known as ‘Pilot’). The following year Leanne was selected for the Channel 4 script writing mentorship scheme and Misadventure made the 2021 Brit List.
Leanne’s BFI-funded, directorial-debut short film, A Last Resort, produced by Strive Films and Griffin Pictures is currently having great success on the festival circuit. Her play RIPE received Arts Council Funding and is in development with Carbon Theatre in collaboration with IGC at Derby Theatre. Leanne’s scripting strengths reside in finding laughter and light in life’s perpetual darkness.
