Matt Bowman – The Pigeon Detectives

Indie rock frontman and songwriter

About

Matt Bowman is the lead singer of The Pigeon Detectives, a band formed with friends in 2002 with no real plan beyond writing songs and playing live. There was no industry strategy and no social media machine behind them. Just rehearsals, small gigs and a belief that the songs were worth playing loud.

As the band built momentum, they moved from local venues to international tours, festival stages and major record releases. Along the way they earned gold and platinum records and built a loyal fanbase that has followed them for over 20 years.

Matt’s experience spans the full reality of being in a band, writing, recording, touring, navigating record deals and sustaining a career in a fast changing industry. He began before streaming platforms and social media shaped how music breaks, which gives him a unique perspective on how the industry has evolved.

His journey shows how far raw creativity, timing and persistence can take you, even when the original goal was simply to make noise with your friends and see what happened next.
