Tim is a highly experienced BAFTA-winning lighting designer for concerts, broadcast and events. He's worked with huge names including Beyonce and Stormzy, and on some of the most famous broadcast events including the Eurovision Song Contest and the Commonwealth Games.

A BAFTA-winning lighting designer for concerts, broadcast and events – Tim Routledge has lit for some of the biggest events and artists in the world.

Named TPI Lighting Designer of the Year in 2020, 2019 and 2015, he’s won two Royal Television Society Awards, and has many other Emmy and BAFTA nominations.

In 2023, Tim designed the Eurovision Song Concert in Liverpool – the world’s largest non-sport event and the most watched music show on the planet.

Tim designs shows worldwide – his portfolio includes tours and concerts for the Spice Girls, Beyonce (her 2016 daylight Superbowl performance), Sam Smith, J-Lo, Zayn, Take That, Stormzy (his 2019 Glastonbury headline performance), Jeff Lynne’s ELO, Florence & The Machine, Gary Barlow, Westlife, and many others.

Tim has redesigned the lighting of London’s New Year’s Eve celebrations at the iconic London Eye since 2022. He also lights major network TV shows for BBC, ITV and CBS including X Factor, Walk the Line and The Greatest Dancer.

In sport, Tim was the lighting designer for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
